I am disappointed with my weight loss this week (and last week). The loss seems to be really slow, and I have it on the "lose 2lb a week" setting. I wouldn't mind - but I'm still relatively new, so the weight loss should be a little faster! I'm exercising 4 times a week at least and have only ever once been over my calories, the rest of the time I've been under! Feeling REALLY disheartened at the moment, as though it's a lot of hard work for very little result! Plus I'm now WELL off target for my first personal goal Sad face.

it can be dissapointing to not see the scale move as we'd like..just remember that weight loss isnt an exact science. hormone fluctuations, bloat, bowel contents etc can all contribute to the scale not moving or seeming to not move.
just keep at it, remember to change things up ever few months and you'll get there0 -

This.
And also you should start measuring parts of your body (hips, waist, chest, arms, legs are the main areas) because you may not be losing weight but you may be losing cms/inches which still means you are losing fat.0 -
The last 2 weigh in's I did before this one I only lost 1lbs each week and this week I lost 6lbs, so stick with it0

This is exactly what happened to me and I am still very new to all of this.
However, I went into the forum and read about eating too few calories and how this can lead to no weight loss.
I have heard this before but felt scared to increase my calories from 1200 to 1500 and just couldn't understand how that would help me lose weight, it just didn't add up to me! I decided to try as like you I was under my 1200 calories a day and exercise 4 times a week, I need to lose a stone.
So I started having 1500 calories a day and it has worked, i lost 3lbs the first week and 3lbs the second week! Have been on holiday for a fortnight so have gained 3lbs but feel confident I will lose it again over the next week.
Have a go and I hope it works.0 -
Your body isn't a simple mathematical equation, and isn't going to respond in a simple, straight forward manner.
Maybe readjust your goals and time frame. Keep your calories set to lose two pounds a week, but your mind set to lose one. Then if you surpass that goal, you will boost your drive.
If nothing else the weight loss journey teaches us acceptance and patience. Give your body time to adapt and change. If you stick with it, you will see change. Not necessarily over night, or over a month. But stick with it, and soon you won't recognize your body or your life.0 -
Hi
I know how you feel. Just completed first week and lost 1lb despite sticking to calorie allowance. I know from many previous experiences though that if I stick with it I will see the results.........and the alternative is putting weight on! So I will keep at it and try to keep motivated. We'll get there, just at varying rates!0 -
Thank you everyone. I will carry on and try to keep motivated. Thanks Nikki for that tip - I may try just increasing the calories slightly, as something doesn't seem right!0
