I abandoned MFP for a couple of weeks. I was eating crap. Whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. My weight was stuck a 165lbs. Now, I'm exercising and trying to eat well....and I've gained 5 lbs. What happened?

A lot of things could be happening. When you exercise, your muscles can swell causing you to appear to have gained. Are you drinking enough water? If not, your body will hold on to every drop it can to keep you from dehydrating...another gain. Are you eating low fat? Fat has more calories than any other nutrient and our bodies store it as fat much more easily than any other nutrient too. Are you getting enough fiber? Keeping the digestive system active and working well helps to stop the bloat that can make it look like you're gaining.
Don't get discouraged and don't quit! Stay on the path to health and your body will eventually give you what you desire of it.
