Pardon the atrocious pun, but I just wanted to share my little victory "woohoo!"
So, I love eggs. Omelets kick @ss. But I don't like to use yolks in them. My school cafeteria makes custom omelets, but always the normal kind. I decided to be adventerous and assertive--I marched up to the omelet bar and went "Heeey, can you make me a 3-egg omelet with just the eggwhite?"
Remember, this is a cafeteria that must feed thousands of students. The chefs are overworked and probably underpaid. So my little omelet maker looks back at me and goes "Preparing for Thanksgiving, right? Coming right up!"
I watched with hawk eyes as he separated my eggs (and didn't break any yolks!). I also was a bit nervy about oil, but my caf is actually pretty health conscious and uses PAM.
So, I got my 3-egg omelet with mushrooms, spinach, and diced onions, spread on a little ketchup, and had a glorious breakfast. Adding on an apple and some coffee, it came to only 285 calories, and that's with an addition of oil, just in case.

Just goes to show that it never hurts to take the initiative to ask for special instructions when ordering food Nicely done :flowerforyou:0

They give us the option of Eggbeaters in our work cafe. Every day i ask for light oil, light cheese. And heaven forbid they run out of that stuff, the chef will NOT separate eggs. Um its not that difficult you know!0
