Breaking a specific weight

Hello All,

Hope you are having a wonderful Friday! Have a question for you.

For the last three years I have started my weight loss journey and every year, I always hit a barrier at 248 lbs. The difference this year, is I have MFP. I did hit 248 once this year already, but went back up do to weddings and travel. With MFP, I was able to pull out of the nose dive and start losing again. On Monday I hit 248 for the second time this year. I'll be honest, being at that weight or near it, does make me nervous.

That being said, I weighed in today, and 248 has officially been broken. I am now at 247.4.

So, what I would be interested to hear is if anyone has had a similar situation with a difficult number to break. And once you did, what helped you continue on in your journey? By that, I mean what helped you focus on a new number rather than get stuck hovering around the old number?

Thanks!

Oh yes!!! I've noticed that the weight where I got stuck going up is also the weight I get stuck going down. I do not have alot to lose now but the number 5 is a killer for me. 145, 135 and 125 pounds is where I hit walls. I am glad I didn't quit or get discourage, eventually I got unstuck ;)

I wonder if those numbers are biological or psychological.

I am there too I am fluctuating up and down the same 4 pounds for a year now I am hoping adding more intense exercise will help me break it this month, it's frustrating

Also congrats on breaking your plateau!!

My latest motivation to keep going is pair of pants I have hangin in front of my closet, they are one size down from where I am now :) I try them on once a week . I want to get in them by September :)

First, congrats on breaking that weight! Last year when I was losing weight/becoming healthier, I found it really difficult to push past the mid 130s...I just kept tracking my calories, tried to drink more water, and I started jogging a little longer on the treadmill every day and sometimes even taking a short walk/bike ride in the evenings as well and finally after a couple months, I started losing again. I was just ecstatic to see that number go away and it made me motivated to keep at it! I focused again on my ultimate goal

it took me about 2 months to break 150..i would hit it time and time again then a couple of pounds would creep on...i just kept at it and everytime i'd get upset i'd have someone ( boyfriend / sister / friend ) talk me off the ledge

i am so glad cause as of this morning i hit 142 and am on a roll

way to go...be proud of yourself
