Is my HRM broken?

Hi there everyone!

I have a cheap HRM, one of those Crivit ones you can buy from Lidl with a strap that goes around your chest. I didn't want to invest in a very expensive one because I didn't know how long I would use one.

Well, in any case, I know it works, but I wanted to know whether or not it was faulty. I have put in my age/weight etc so it should be adjusted to my details. The thing is, when I look at it, it can go from 120 to 60 in a few moments. I mean, can the heart change so fast? Or can the HRM be delayed? Also, I found that when during my exercise, I slow down, or stretch, then my heart rate can start going up.

I was wondering whether or not I'm just not understanding how the body works, or if I should invest in a better monitor?
