congratulations. I have lost mine via WLS in 2004 and have kept off 145 lbs. I never thought to track monthly losses. Guess I was just different--I didn't want to think about month to month.0

I'm not there yet but I have a minimum of 83lbs to lose (that is the VERY TIPPY TOP of my healthy BMI) so I can definitely go farther.
Today was my 365th day in a row logging in and in that time I have lost 71lbs. It works out to 1.3lbs a week for 52 weeks. The end is harder than the beginning because I'm closer to my goal so I lose slower now, plus I added in strength training etc a couple months ago. So while I haven't had a plateau of gains I have had some slow and small loss weeks.
Just keep plugging away and in a year you'll look back amazed at the difference0 -
Good luck on your journey!
My starting weight was 330
3/4/2010 - 330
4/4/2010 - 320

9/4/2010 - 251
11/4/2010 - 239

Feel free to friend me and see my story !0 -
I'm in the first 1/3 of my journey, having started on MFP and actually sticking to this new eating plan - and I'm averaging so far a 9 lb loss per month.
Business travel has me out on the road for 3.5 weeks at the moment, so I'm hoping not to ruin my average!
Good luck in your journey, and if you need friends, feel free to add me.0 -
If you're just starting out, some weight could come off pretty fast! When I first started, I was losing between fifteen and twenty pounds a month, give or take. A year and 108 pounds later, it's a relatively steady one to two pounds a week, and as an example, I've lost about seven pounds in the last month. As you lose more, you'll have to work harder to keep it up! I was able to lose a lot in the beginning just by restricting calories and occasionally walking or biking, but these days I'm going to the gym five or six days a week! I'd say keep an eye on what you're losing and the rate, and don't be afraid to experiment with different methods to see what works for you. Up your calories by a little bit if you're not losing, change up workout routines, etc. Good luck, you can do it!!0

I had a long time period in between my initial loss and my most recent loss, so I'm just gonna do the past 113 lbs from September 2010 to now.
9/15/10 to 10/15/10 Month 1: 25 lbs
10/15 to 11/15 Month 2: 14 lbs
11/15 to 12/15 Month 3: 11 lbs
12/15 to 1/15/11 Month 4: 7 lbs
1/15 to 2/15 Month 5: 8 lbs
2/15 to 3/15 Month 6: 10 lbs
3/15 to 4/15 Month 7: 7 lbs
4/15 to 5/15 Month 8: 10 lbs
5/15 to 6/15 Month 9: 10 lbs
6/15 to 7/15 Month 10: 5 lbs
7/15 to 8/5 Partial Month 11: 5.4 lbs with 10 days left
There ya go!0 -
I am down 136 lbs in 30 weeks. I am not sure month by month, but after the first month where I lost the most weight, it's been pretty consistent. My first month I lost around 27 lbs. After that I have averaged between 4 and 5 lbs per week. This past month things have been a little slower, but my weight loss looked like the following.
Week 27-2.2 lbs lost
Week 28-4.6 lbs lost
Week 29-2.4 lbs lost
Week 30-5.0 lbs lost
My first weeks looked like this
Week 1-12 lbs lost
Week 2-4.2 lbs lost
Week 3-3.6 lbs lost
Week 4-7.0 lbs lost
I still wanna lose about 40 lbs, which should put me around 10% body fat0 -
My starting weight was very close to yours. I wasn't using MFP and didn't have a good scale when I started so I don't have exact numbers but this is pretty close:
April 1 2009 - 325
May 1 2009 - 297
June 1 2009 - 278
July 1 2009 - 260
Aug 1 2009 - 248
Sept 1 2009 - 235
Oct 1 2009 - 228
Nov 1 2009 - 217
then I just tried to maintain for a while to let my skin catch up (which it hasn't done - sorry to say), plus I couldn't afford to keep buying smaller sizes ever month. I wanted to see if I could maintain the 217. By September 2010, I was back up to 230, knew I had to get back on track and found MFP.
Sept 1 2010 - 230
Oct 1 2010 - 217 (this is when I started spinning, previously, all I'd done was Leslie Sansone walking videos (still do them too))
Nov 1 2010 - 195
Dec 1 2010 - 183
Jan 1 2011 - 180 (slacked off a bit over holidays - kept spinning but too much rich food)
Feb 1 2011 - 171
Mar 1 2011 - 164
April 1 2011 - 158
May 1 2011 - 152
June 1 2011 - 147
which is where I am now - I am 5'7", turning 52 next week and wearing size 6-8 pants. I still spin and do some DVDs at home, plus some weight training. I'd like to be thinner but I can maintain this for the rest of my life so I am not sweating the last 10 lbs. Hope this helps you - if I did it, you can too. I felt like it was hopeless when I weighed 320 but was turning 50 that summer and knew I had to do something. I am so happy I found MFP - it has been the key for me - I know I'll have to track my food intake for the rest of my life because 100 calories here and there add up quickly and tracking food keeps me in check.0 -
I seem to have plateaued every 50lbs. Once I hit the first 50 I was stuck for a couple months and again once I hit the second one.0

Now that I look at mine, I seem to plateau every 50 lbs too! Odd!
Dang! And my mom did too!0 -
I haven't lost 100 pounds yet, but I'm on my way!
Feb 14.4
March 14.0
April 10.2
May 17.2
June 15.2
July7.9
I didn't do great with my eating & exercise in July, but I'm back on track now, and hoping to get another 10 pounds gone this month, and keep to that for a few more months. I anticipate I'll slow down after that.0 -
I don't think I really have track of month to month since I lost 120lbs before MFP..and I think really it depends on what people are doing.
Me Slimband and no binge foods. And being more active and MFP.
I've lost 185lbs in 22 months. So that averages out to 8.5 lbs a month and 2 lbs a week which is exactly what is recommended..now It was certainly more in the beginning..but now I'm at about half a lb every 2 weeks and its frustrating a tiny bit but my shape is still changing. so I keep it up0 -
My first month by cutting calories and excercising the weight melted off. My weight loss has slowed down since May but I feel like my weight loss has been quick. I know some say take it slow and easy. I started tracking everything on here and have started feeling better ever since. I take a good muli vitamin and drink lots of water at least 128 ounces a day. I did get tired of logging that in. I think my first week i lost close to ten pounds. But I had a long ways to go and now i am finally starting to see daylight.0

What do you do for exercise? I started Jullian Michaels' 30 Day Shred this week, and I'm worried that it might not be enough exercise.0

Congrats for joining MFP and taking charge of your health. I didn't think to keep track of monthly weight loss. I joined MFP on January 11, 2011 needing to lose 127 pounds. I have lost 90 so far. You can see my pictures under a post I did a few minutes ago titled "I'm not obese anymore."
I will say the bigger you are, the faster you fall. The weight dropped much more quickly in the beginning and I knew it would and to not stop or get discouraged when it slowed down. Hang in there, the weight will come off and you will feel so much better.0 -
I started at 338 lbs. Month 1 lost 22 (no weight training, small amounts of cardio). Month 2 I started weight training and still have one more week to finish off the month and I'm due for a weigh in soon, but as of my last weigh in, down ~12 lbs so far this month.0

Today is exactly 10 months since I began and lost 117. Fairly steady if you go month by month.
I started at about 1800 calories per day and worked my way down to 1200 calories per day.
Exercise began at about 5 -10 min a day about 4-5 days a week and I am now at 35-50 min per day about 6 days a week.
Up'd my protein to 80-100 grams per day, don't always make it but I try. Minimized processed food/fast food, cut out soda, even diet, which dropped the sodium levels. Increased fiber and water to keep the system clean and flushed.
It really works! Best of Luck to you!0
