Clothing input from guys (and gals)

So I recently had to make the hard decision to get rid of nearly all my collared shirts...they are all 17.5 inch necks and I'm between 16 and 16.5 now. (Obviously this is a good thing.) So here's the question. I don't expect to lose a lot more from my neck (should land between 15.5 and 16 in the end) but I'd rather not have to go through two rounds of shirt purchases and this can't wait until I'm done losing. Do you think a guy with a 16" neck can pull off a shirt and tie effectively with a 16.5" shirt?

If you are confident you will land between a 15.5 and 16 I would go ahead and buy 16 and get a neck extender until they fit comfortably that way the rest of the shirt looks good and not to baggy0

I'm not too particular about this as many if not most of the time I don't even bottom up the shirt. I just let the tie hold everything together. So I would go with the smaller size if it fits. Or just buy some now and then more later. At least for me I like to wear white shirts and let the tie and suit do all the styling work. So people would never know if I had only two white shirts or 5. I know it's not big help. sorry0
