To lose or not to lose... that is my question

I have been working very hard on reaching my goal weight of 145 lbs. My doctor said it was an ok weight to be so I took it and went with it. I am a few lbs short of reaching my goal.. yay! However, I see areas on my body that still have too much fat storage that I don't like at all. Should I keep losing and lower my goal number or work to maintain 145 lbs? Technically I should be at like 125 or so but that is too thin for my taste (I think).

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I think 125-130 would be fine for you....I'm 5.4 1/2 and my lowest was 120 and I looked thin but not unhealthy. It's whatever makes you feel comfortable and that you can maintain

Sounds to me as if you are looking for toning rather than additional weight loss. That's a great approach to take. When I saw your statement "However, I see areas on my body that still have too much fat storage that I don't like at all" I immediately wondered if you were doing any strength training. If you are not, I would suggest you give it a try. The number on the scale is just a number.....2 people who weigh the same but with different body fat percentages will look quite different. Good luck!

I agree with brendalyne, you should be doing strength training. You cannot get a toned body without doing some measure of strength training. It doesn't have to be lifting heavy weights at the gym -- you can do a DVD like Ripped in 30 that combines strength and cardio, or do your own bodyweight exercises at home. But losing weight will not get you the muscle tone you want unless you combine it with strength training.

Maybe try losing a little more and see what you think then? If you do strength workouts as well as cardio then you should notice more muscle tone as you lose fat, instead of protruding bones.
