weekend drinking

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem...I am mainly a light beer and wine drinker. i usually do great during the week, with only the occasional glass of wine if it fits into my calorie goal for the day. But, on the weekends I usually like to have fun and not worry about it, especially in the summer. I still do good with my eating, I'm not typically an after drinking eater. Just thinking about this as the weekend is fast approaching!

I feel you. BIG TIME. I am really good during the week, but when the weekend hits, I just want to enjoy myself. I brew my own beer (sometimes unfortunately) so I do enjoy beer. But... sadly... alcohol is notorious for slowing weight loss:( I fear I may have to give it up all together to lose ANYTHING.0

I battle this every weekend. I agree i do not usually go over on my food, although sometimes the day after drinking i need some grease and high fat food to settle my stomach...i'm interested to hear others ideas, but honestly i think this is just going to be my hang up. i know what i should do but i frequently choose not to do it so it is my own fault and I jsut have to deal with it, luckily for me it hasnt impacted my weight loss too terribly.0

I gave up weekend drinking for the first four months of my diet and lost an average of 10-12 lbs a month. Now that I have resumed drinking on the weekends, I am losing 6-8 pounds a month, but only because I have upped my exercise, too.
Its hard. I feel like I deserve the socializing and fun because I have worked so hard all week, and on the other hand, I am undoing part of my hard work.
I try to choose one night to drink and keep it to that. I've also told myself once summer is over and the kids are back in school we won't be going out as much and it will be easier to just say no.0 -
Oh yea. Going an entire weekend without an adult beverage is so hard sometimes. I usually make myself go two weeks (drinks every other Saturday), but I'm not always diligent.0

DITTO!!!! I only drink during the week (usually) if it fits in my daily calories, but the weekends.....no matter how hard I plan.....I always end up over doing it!!!
Not sure how to stop the cycle, cause even if I had nowhere to go, my husband and I would still indulge in some drinks!!! I guess I also don't really want to, I really enjoy going out (or staying in) and having some drinks. I have cut back my beer consumption to 1 day a week and during the week I stick with red wine and when I go out I do some kind of flavored vodka and diet soda!!!
Good luck!!!0 -
it seems like even if I fit my alcohol in my calories, I still come out losing weight slower. booo!!0

I am trying to limit my drinking to just once per week. It's especially hard during the summer when everyone wants to BBQ and get together/vacation. We have friends coming over tonight, and believe it or not, I am actually considering "fake" drinking. I don't want to appear anti-social, but at the same time I don't really feel like having any additional calories, so I may drink virgin Vodka and Sodas and just let everyone believe they aren't so.....well, virgin. LOL Is that nuts, or has anyone else done something similar? Gotta say, I'm feelin' a bit nuts.0

I don't think its nuts...good for you!! I would never be able to fake that though  Once the booze is out, I'm done for...especially if I'm home and don't have to drive anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck!!!!0 -
Oh, and one other thought that someone recently mentioned. Don't forget there are other, enjoyable alternatives to alcohol that don't involve any calories...as long as you can avoid "the munchies" :glasses:0
