HRM measuring RMR & calorie burn or just calorie burn

Got a question that hopefully someone can answer.
Picked up a Sportline strapless HRM. Decided to try an experiment and in the past 3 hours, I have burned 349 calories just doing my normal work. Now, is it measuring RMR or RMR plus actually energy expendature. I know it's not going to be dead on balls accurate but, just wondering if I can count that as an actual calorie burn?
What do you think?
