30DS HRM off? Need your input! Help!!!

Okay, So I got a new HRM last week and it seems that according to other people's calorie burn rate, mine is kind of high! A few people have told me they don't really get over 250 in 25 minutes. I'm hitting like 450. What is your rate for doing L1 of the 30ds? I tried punching it in using the system circuit whatevers and it pulls up about the same for me. So I'm not sure what to do to test to see how off this stupid thing is. Thanks!!

I'm doing Jillian's Ripped in 30 and my HRM says I'm burning between 300-400, depending on how hard I push it that day. So depending on your height, weight, age, and gender...your HRM should be more accurate than MFP.0

If I'm ever not sure, I always use the lowest number...to be on the safe side.0

What is your average heart rate during the dvd, and what is the peak?0

Go by your HRM......with mine when I did the "Shred" I usually burned 350-450 calories.....its a hard workout!0

What kind of HRM? What was the average HR? For that kind of burn it should be 160+. I have also read that HRMs are more accurate for in shape people, so being out of shape (if you are) could cause a high reading because your heartrate is higher than someone who is in shape.0

my HRM is a pest I am the only person in the world I reckon that does the level 1 of 30DS and sweats and goes for it and gets 80-110 cals yep you read that right lol!!!!! so be very thankful for all those scrummy calories you can eat back lol!!!!0

For today I would go with the lower number and wear it again tomorrow. This happened to me when I was doing the 30DS and when I did L1 & 2 together it said I burned over 900 calories. Wear it every day now and it adjusted. Make sure you clear out the memory of a previous workout before you start. Wipe the watch and chest strap with a damp cloth before you start. If you do this and it continually says you've burned that many, then more power to you.
If it is a watch only and no chest strap then I wouldn't trust what it says and return it to get one that has a strap. Good Luck!0 -
My heart rate runs about 155 throughout and my highs go from 170-190. So pretty high I think. I'm not sure what's a good rate either?
I don't let my heartrate go down. I noticed when they're getting into position it takes like 10 seconds for them to get started on the next thing (Grr) so I just start right when I go to the next move. You know what I mean? I do what I have to, to keep my HR up.
I wanted to add that I also input my personal info on my hrm so it's set to me. I do have the watch. How inaccurate is the watch compared to the strap?0 -
At first for level one I was burning 350. It's now down to about 280 on day 10 of the shred. I thought mine was really high too. But I think it's just different for different people0

Your heart rate is good, just don't go any lower0 -
I get about 315 when I do all the cardio with weights (except jump rope) on level 1. Unfortunately, I don't know what the burn is when not using weights on the cardio.0

I use 3 pound weights for the anterior raises but the 5 lb weights for everything else...0

I'll probably go buy a chest strap today to see how they both add up. Thanks for the idea!0 -
during the hsort time my HRM worked, it didnt matter how hard i pushed my heart rate wouldnt go above 90..
And if it did i would suddenly get very strong chest pains and have to stop because of my heart condition..
And it said i burned nearlly 200 calories doing it..
So for like 150 ish i wouldnt be surprised if you burn 400 calories at all!0
