Now I realize many of you know what periodization is. To a good trainer, it is key. This article is not from someone trying to sell their plan, book or video as the "new" way to lift, or the best way to "shred". This is an organization that researches and provides great objective and scientific information to fitness professionals.
So read through this, and know that it's important to progress and vary your routines. If you break the rut, then you just might break your plateau.
