Eat em up.......or at least enough of the to get 1200 net. The deficit is already built into the #s for weight loss so you might as well enjoy them.

I almost always have eaten all mine and I have had great success doing so.

To me it doesn't make sense to eat the calories you have burned if you are trying to lose weight.. ..Defeats the purpose...I can understand if you are trying to MAINTAIN...I never eat all of my calories back, and I am doing just great.... :flowerforyou:

Sounds logical right? But wrong! Because the way MFP works, the deficit is factored in, so if you hit your target, you're eating at a deficit. If you come below your target, you're increasing your deficit which may lead to issues like loss of lean muscle or worse.

On the contrary, to work out and then not eat defeats the purpose. Why waste your time breaking a sweat and doing all that hard work if you're just going to let it go to waste?

I think not eating them back only works if you have a lot of weight to lose (like 80-100 lbs). And it’s certainly not going to work for very long. I had my net cals set at 1200 for a while because I thought, the bigger the deficit, the faster the weight loss. So not true. I am 5’10”, so it was really not a good idea.

My suggestion is to try eating them back for a few weeks first, and if it doesn’t work then try and look at what is going wrong. It could be that maybe your net calories are not even high enough. I’m learning that you just have to adjust as you go.

it has actually taken me a while to realise the deficiency is built in to your goal amount of calories. The 1,200 net is without exercise so if you burn 300 cals you have to try to get back up to 1200. Tats what im on day 2 of now
