If you're feeling it, do it! You'll know when you need rest!
  • I'm no expert by any means, but I do try to do cardio daily. That being said, I don't always get to do it daily. I do NOT workout with weights on a daily basis, because you can not only hurt yourself doing that, but also hinder your efforts. I typically try to do NOTHING at all at least one day a week.

You're probably ok since you mentioned you're spreading your workouts out through the day, but that all depends on what kind of workouts you're doing.

If you're going for several sessions in the gym or on the treadmill , 7 days a week...then you're overtraining without a doubt.

If like an athlete for example, you play hockey in the morning....then have a softball game in the evening, following by some playtime in the pool....that's not too bad.

Keep in mind you progress and get stronger when you're RESTING, in BETWEEN workouts so if you're not taking any time away to allow yourself to relax, you're actually hindering your results more than anything.

Short answer, yes. For a couple of reasons, first if you're doing a lot of strength and resistance type stuff, your muscles aren't being given a chance to heal and repair. This will eventually result in injury. From a cardio perspective if you're burning too many calories you may be running too large of a deficit and will stall weight loss.

as long as you're eating back at least some or most of your workout calories, then you're fine... unless you're in pain or something, but that's obvious.

i'm talking about cardio. the reply about resistance is exactly right.

Yes, depending on if you're equally fueling your body or not with what you're doing physically. Make sure you're accounting for the workout calories and try to eat most of them back in a healthy manner if at all possible.

Yes! Only men have answered you so far so I wanted to jump in and give you the heavy answer.

Women's bodies are different than men's. A man's body can handle nearly twice as much training as a woman's body!

Women should exercise, at max, 6 days per week. You should be aiming at 1-1.5 hours of working out per day if you're going for heavy training.

If you're just trying to slenderize, then you need to cut back, girl! Cut down to 1 hour per day. Sometimes doing more than that on the hardcore training is okay, but you really need to slow down.

There are plenty of studies out there, published on the internet that you can Google, about women and exercise training. Exercising a lot is great, but remember to keep the word BALANCE at the top of your mind at all times. Are you resting as much as you are training? Think about that long and hard and if the answer is "no" then it's time to regroup with yourself, rethink your strategy and change your goals, making them more reasonable so you don't have to do overkill on the workout routine.
  • Not a professional by any means, but depending on your overall body structure there IS a limit on how much abuse your body can take, aerobically and/or anaerobically.

    Thanks guys!! And girls!

I usually rest on Sundays to pamper myself. and workout out a total of 1-1.5 hrs a day. There are just some days where I feel like I can go for more, but I will keep it to a minimum.

Can you share where you're getting your data from? I've never heard this anywhere. Not calling you out or anything...just always eternally curious for continual aquisition of further knowledge and research. :-)
