Swimming & calories burned

Are the calories burned for swimming actually correct? I can swim all day if left in a pool. Seems like cheating or something.

    Depends on the intensity of your swimming.

    Swimming laps consistently with speed, not leisurely sunbathing in the pool. but actually swimming acrossed the pool and back with true swimmers strokes.

    I like to do laps and when I need to I tread water to catch my breath.
