Ok, so it finally took me this long to get myself to workout. But, there is something else I hate more than working out.....stretching. Don't get me wrong, it's not the actually stretching and ALL areas that hurt, it's just my I.T. band and calves. Have a foam roller but it HELLA hurts. I'm trying to get myself to do it more often since I know i'm not doing it enough. Anyone have any suggestion on how to just grin an bear it? I know it's going to hurt regardless...but maybe there are some tricks or other methods that might help? (so far, biting on my thumb hard to distract from stretching my I.T. band is my only option... LOL).

If it hurts you're not doing it right.

Slow and gentle, you should be able to feel a little tension, but not pain.

if you stretch until it hurts it's counter productive... you're actually making your self tighter.

Go until you feel a slight pull, patience is the only thing that'll get you flexible. You'll hardly notice your progress day-to-day, but a couple of months down the line it'll be obvious.

In regards to this, I'm not really sure how accurate that would be with my I.T. band...my husband has been stretching his for years and it never really is painless..just hurts less with more stretching. :-P But, thanks for the advice! I appreciate everyone's feedback! :-) I'll just need to stick with it I guess, huh? darn...hehehe.
