Motivation for runners (book)

After a couple of months of power walking I slowly started added a couple of minutes of running to every walk. When I was up to 8 kilometers of running and 2 of walking a friend asked me if I had read the book "Born To Run" by Christopher McDougall. The book has been out for a couple of years (and some of you have probably read it) but it was recently translated into swedish. I ordered it right away, and I couldn't stop reading once I got it.

The book tries to answer the question "Why are we running?" and I think it does a pretty good job. Every chapter made me want to go out and run and never stop, and one evening when I only had a couple of chapters left in the book I went out, and actually couldn't stop. I ran my whole regular route of 10 km without stopping, and I have never really felt so good in my entire life. I couldn't stop smiling as I felt how much energy I had, and it probably looked pretty stupid with this big guy running and laughing round town :)

The books takes you to the awesome long distance runners the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico and to a couple of the biggest ultra marathon characters in the world.

So if you're into running and want some motivation in book form, I really think you should get this book.

Running Barefoot and Running down Animals...what more could you ask for in a book? So good!
