I just had a similar problem. I got my wisdom teeth out. I drank a lot of juice and that boosted my calories. I also bought eggnog and that filled me up and gave me lots of calories..This might not help you though since my problem was not being able to chew.
  • Maybe try a smoothie? I use frozen fruit, nonfat yogurt, skim milk and honey in mine...if you need to up the calories, mayne use whole milk, or 2 % and regular yogurt. I know that can be one of the worst pains. I hope you can get it taken care of quickly! :flowerforyou:
  • oatmeal, yogurt, ice cream - anything that can be swallowed without chewing and with minimum contact with your teeth!

thanks for the imput! I'm going to try oatmeal...anything too hot or cold causes so much pain I don't even wanna think about that! I'm gonna have to go without all the cals today since it's so late.

    Thanks again and good night!!!!!
  • Oh I can relate. I have had many root canals. (born with evil teeth I say!) Anyways, during those times, eat things that you dont have to use your teeth for, and AVOID hot or cold. I have gotten so used to eating on only one side of my mouth, the other side has become more sensitive from mis-use, lol. Yogurt, pudding, smoothies, are all good choices

When I had root canal problems I drank carnation instant breakfast with milk. You get some protien, vitamins, minerals. No chewing involved. You can warm it so it is not to cold but yet not to warm.

Hope you get in soon and have it taken care of. I feel for you because I've been there!
