Can anyone here recommend a cheap HRM. I don't want anything flahy, it doesn't have to do a million things, I just want omething cheap that I can use as a guideline to make my calories burned a little more accurate...

Having bought 2 cheapo heart rate watches (no chest straps with them) and having both of them break (the actual watch straps plus they are very hit and miss when they work!), I am now in the process of getting a Polar ft4 (amazon). Bought it for £56 but have good recommendations that it will last!!!

Beurer PM25 - about £30 on amazon. Comes with a chest strap and works well0

Sigma PC9 - comes with a chest strap and an extremely cute wristwatch0

Yeah, I got the Polar F4 off Amazon of less than $50.0

Honestly, the cheap HRM's are not very good. They don't accurately track calories, they break all the time, act up, etc. Plus you'll be spending double what you should have to buy the more expensive HRM.
If your looking for the just the basics, the Polar FT4 should work just fine. Look on amazon.. they are pretty cheap there.. I also know that Ebay sometimes has good deals on them.0 -
Ekho E-15 Heart Rate Monitor
I just won the above brand off ebay for 30.00 with free shipping and its brand new with chest strap. Not sure how great it is but for 30.00 I was ok with giving it a shot0 -

Agreed! I'm super cheap but talked myself into getting the Polar FT7. I knew getting something too cheap would only make me spend more when I eventually had to go get a decent one anyway. It took me forever to talk myself into it but my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner. Good luck!0 -
Polar ft4 is simple and easy to use. It's great. I purchased one a few months ago and can't live w/out it!
Good luck.0
