Weekends are my Downfall....anyone else?

This is a vicious cycle. Every week between Monday and Thursday, I lose like 2 pounds and every weekend, I gain them back! It is incredibly frustrating. I used to drink my calories on the weekend in alcohol, but I quit that only to replace those calories with constant mindless munching. After Thanksgiving, all bets are off, I am just going to have to buckle down and eat right until I get to my goal. I never dreamed the last 12 pounds would be so stubborn

  • I know two remedies for ruinous weekends. 1) plan what you'll eat ahead of time, including some treats for yourself, and then stick to that roadmap or, 2) eat a little under your calories during the week so you can go a little bit over your calories on the weekend. There's not a lot of room for eat half your calories today; eat twice your calories tomorrow, but there is a little bit of room to play with if you cut back a little bit all week and go over a little bit all weekend.
  • Great advice! Maybe if I plan what I am going to eat I can stick with it

For me my evening meals on the weekend are my "lax" time.
I pay close attention all week long and during my daytime meals on the weekend....giving me a ratio for my evening meal (which is useful if I have big plans).... then I just enjoy those two meals, which rarely get too extravagant because my stomach is so much smaller now.
THEN, I do a rough figure on the calorie intake, just so I know how much I went over.
I do pre-plan most of my eating, except those two meals...and even those sometimes are pre-meditated.
