I have been on MFP since June and I am doing pretty good. My BF is skinny and very active with his job. His problem is he doesn't eat right. (usually only once or twice a day) He does not want to gain any weight but I think maybe some sort of meal replacement would be good for him especially for breakfast because he doesn't eat breakfast.

Here is the problem: what kind of replacement? He doesnt work out but is very active with is job. ( he is a electrician so he climbs up and down ladders, in attic and under houses, he is always on the go) So what would you suggest as a meal replacement?

I think my coach said it best in one of her blogs: (Paraphrased)

"Not eating breakfast is like completeing an 8 hour work day and then skipping dinner." I don't know anyone who would logically do that so why do people skip breakfast the same?

During sleep, your body is using all your stored energy to repair tissues, build new ones, recover from stressors, all the check ups from whatever you've done in your previous days.

Eating something in the morning, replenishes the energy balance in the body which promotes healthy functionality through the day be it your brain, muscles or right down to your cells.

A simple breakfast that provides some basic carb/protein content is enough to get you going.

Some possibilities: 2 glasses of Chocolate Milk, a protein powder (20g) blended with water and a banana, a Bagel with some peanut butter, a couple poached eggs on a piece of toast....All of the above take about 3 mins tops to make and eat and will provide some kind of quick start to get your energy system and brain going in the morning.

    Cheers!

I have tried these and they dont work. He always says he's not hungry. I was thinking of some sort of meal replacement I can put in a shaker cup and he can drink on the way to work or once he gets there. But sometimes he doesnt eat lunch and wont eat until dinner. So I know he doesnt get enough food. Even when he does have lunch its a sandwich and a small bag of chips.

I just want him to think about getting healthier with me. Although he doesn't need to loose any weight there is nothing wrong with eating 3 meals a day. Heck I eat 5-6 times a day.

For what it's worth, my personal opinion is that eating breakfast is learned behavior for some people. I have never had a problem with my appetite (morning, noon or midnight, LOL) but my husband has never eaten breakfast until the last few months. He is a competitive power lifter and he decided that in order to get enough calories and protein in his day, he had to start eating earlier, so he basically force fed himself every morning. I think it just about made him puke a couple of times to eat within a few minutes of waking. But eventually, his body accepted the change and now he wakes up hungry and eats a wholesome, protein packed breakfast every day.
