Versa spa or the new mystic solution at Palm Beach Tan works great!!!0

The moisturizers that tan you gradually are good, even store brands. It's subtle, but the nice thing is that since you put it on every day, you're less likely to end up streaky or missing a spot. Just make sure to wash your hands well afterward.0

I have just started using the Garnier Summer Body Lotion - and I am addicted!!! I have never been one to bother with Tanning, but I was starting to feel super pale and didn't want to go home to Australia in 4 weeks time looking like i've never seen sunshine :glasses:
I just can't seem to get it right on my legs, it's a bit patchy - but I think this has something to do with the fact that I put it on after showering in the Gym and then put my tights straight on, probably before it's properly dry!
I am loving the colour though and it doesn't really have that "fake tan" smell0 -
Tan Towels work great. I love tanning too, but I use these at times because they feel light and are easy to apply. It's a moist towellete that you just rub over your body.0

I get mine at Sally Beauty Supply and it's called Toma's. It gives a really natural looking color, and you get color right away because it has a bronzer in it as well.0

Clearly, I don't use it very often, but I like Coppertone Gradual Tan when I do want some color.0

Lots of them work, but take the time to prepare before you apply and you'll have a much better experience. The most common problem those new to self-tanners have is that the color turns up uneven and/or streaky... and they have the evidence of self-tanner in the crevices of their fingers as well as the rough spots on their knees, in between their toes, and their heels. Take it from a person who has been using them for years... Take the time to prepare. :-)
1. Exfoliate daily for a few days before application.
2. Moisturize for a few days before application.
3. Shave the day before, not the day of application.
4. Shower right before application and use a washcloth to remove dead skin cells.
5. Moisturize the rough areas (or wrinkled areas) where you will apply self-tanner.
6. Moisturize your hands.
7. Apply evenly by massaging the lotion into your skin. Have a friend or spouse apply it to your back.
8. I rub it in again a second time and this time I take an old cloth and wipe off the areas between my toes, under my armpits, on my toe knuckles, etc.... to remove areas prone to soak up too much color.
9. Wash hands two or three times with soap, being careful not to drip water on the rest of your arms.
10. Stay in the air-conditioning or in front of a fan to let it all soak in.
Hope that is helpful. :-)0 -

Has anyone tried any of the brands that are sold at Sephora such as St Tropez, Josie Maran, or Sevin Nyne?0

I am in London, so I get the Garnier one in my local supermarket or chemist - But I am pretty sure Garnier is an international brand so you should be able to get it anywhere?
It is is a Yellow Bottle, white lid and as mentioned it builds up gradually so you get a really nice colour...I just need to work on getting my legs right - I am going to try all the suggestions listed below, might even try the tanning mit too0 -
