I guess I should introduce myself...

I've actually been using MFP mobile for a couple months and the website a few weeks after that. I was mostly using it to track my food faster and easier (than my blackberry) and to follow the friend who introduced me to MFP. I've steadily explored new functions and uses, most recently the forums. I think support is a great part of any weight loss experience and this website is amazing for that.

I'm married and a mother to three kids. I have an 18 year old daughter whom I placed with an adoptive family when I was 17. We've been reunited for almost 3 years now. I also have an 11yr old and a 9yr old.

My weight first became an issue shortly before I got pregnant with my last child and has been an issue since. I have never found the sustained will power, nor the educational resources, to effectively tackle weight loss...until now.

I have incredible body image problems and once saw my reflection in a mirror and all I could think of was 'Jabba the Hut'.
I'm tired of shopping in the plus sizes just to find my Grandma's fashions.
I'm tired of being ashamed to lay on the beach and get a tan.
I'm tired of sitting with a sweater on my lap to hide the rolls.
I'm tired of lifting my chin for every picture so my double chin isn't as noticable,
and I'm tired of feeling unattractive to my husband, even though he assures me that isn't the case.

I have an office job (I'm an A/P Administrator for an Electrical Construction firm) so I'm not active at work, I have 2 children in Elementary and Middle school so I don't have a lot of time for off site activities (gym). We finally bought a treadmill and I am now actively using it.

My hopes for this site are that I can learn from, and put to use for myself, other peoples tips, tricks and experiences.

I work an office job as well and I started a walking group with my coworkers. While everyone else goes out for a smoke break, I go out for a walk break! With two 15 minute breaks each day, I can easily rack up 30 minutes worth of exercise before I even get home! I'm also encouraging others to be healthy by asking them to join me!
