Hi All,
Just wondering what change(s) you are most proud of to live a healthier life? Personally, I love that I have made spinach a staple in my family's diet. I mix it in with so many meals that my daughter actually likes it now and considers it too be one of her favorite veggies!
I'm also proud to have dusted off the bowflex...and use it for more than a clothing rack
So what changes are you most proud of???

I'm most proud of starting C25K. I have friends that run regularly, and a while back one of them was saying how it was her "me" time, something she did just for her. And all I could think was wow, there are so many other things I'd rather do than that. Well now that I'm running (sort of ) I get it, I get what she meant by it. I also get up before sunrise to do it! Not like me at all to get out of bed before 10am in summer break!!0

i'm proud that i work out at least 3x a week, and i feel antsy when i don't work out!0

I work out 6-7 days a week like clockwork. It's an extremely rare occasion that I skip a workout (maybe once in 6 months, if that). I eat right 90+% of the time. I *prefer* to eat quality food over junk.0

getting out and walking regularly and some additional exercises inside would like some motivational help regularly to get on the move0

Becoming someone who actually enjoys running and gets up at the crack of dawn on a hot summer Saturday to run in a 5K.
Being a better more active mom for my kids.
Using exercise as my medication instead of a prescription drug.
Being WAY more organized about grocery shopping.0 -
 I agree with the OP about the spinach......I never thought it would be a staple in our diet. I love the fact that I am concerned with what goes into my body. Also love the curves that are starting to show again!!!0

I pretty proud of the knowledge that I have gained. Before, I never knew (or really cared about) the caloric value of anything and never knew the difference between healthy fats and unhealthy fats..Never knew about macro nutrients, knew NOTHING about exercise...Now, people sometimes come to ME for help!! It motivates me to do even more!0

I love that working out is now part of my life. I had never worked out before, and a friend talked me into starting a boot camp class. That's what started me on this whole journey. She stopped going to the class (she irritated her knee, and then stopped coming) but I'm still going. I've also added CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting to my regimen.
I'm also really glad that I've started eating breakfast. I've tried different things and I'm really enjoying it. I still am getting up with just enough time to make it to work on time....most mornings..... but I've found that there are things I can prepare ahead of time and eat in the car or eat while I'm in my first meeting of the day.0 -
Water, 11 months ago i gave up pop completelly, but i still drank alot of juice. About 2 months ago ive been downing water like it is... well water. Lol. Its all i drink now, other than a glass of juice once a week.
Exercise has become a big part of my life now. I feel gross if i dont get in at least 20-60 minutes a day. its actually becoe *fun*
The fact that i am learning to cook healthy foods with vegetables.0 -
For me it would definitely be daily exercise! At least 30-45 minutes (or more) of rigorous cardio.
I never would have thought I'd actually look forward to exercising, but it's become a daily habit. If I have to do without it for some reason, it just doesn't feel right. It's a part of me now!0 -
The increase in the amount of recipes/cooking methods I know. Recreating a dish at home is awesome: you get intimately familiar with ingredients and the things you eat.0

Cooking everything from scratch!
We use to eat out all the time and my idea of dieting was eating Lean Cuisines 2 meals a day. People say I cook like a Pro from the Food Network and are amazed when I tell them it's all healthy!
My 20 month old refuses to eat Mc Donalds chicken nuggets and prefers fish over red meat... My 12 year old son actually asks me to make my Arctic Char with Tomatoes and couscous for dinner becausethats "his favorite"
This lifestyle change has definitely been a great one for the entire family!0 -
Mine has been my efforts to learn about the food industry and GMOs. Also, changing my mind to stop thinking so much about nutrition, and focusing on health more instead. Everything I've learned has been so life-changing, and I want so much to help others learn as well. I know my health is better because of everything I've learned.0
