Anyone else found a friend/listener in their treadmill? I feel that I have. In the last few days, ive only had a couple hours of sleep. I spent most of the day yesterday in the ER with my husband. And all last night, off and on awake with him still... Its been wild. And now today, my mom flies back to California after her 2wk vacation here... I barely got to see her at all. Its sucks. I feel like crap about it...
But since I can't change any of that... I decided to walk.. and walking turned to jogging and jogging turned to running. I feel like the treadmill understands my pain. I know it sounds lame.. but at least its just a listener... It doesn't give unwanted advice. lol And so here I sit... sweating.. but feeling like I got out some of the toxicity that was running through me..
I feel better.. thanks for that $400 hunk of metal. lmao

shhhh....don't tell my hubby either...
I love my treadmill and visit with him EVERYDAY!!!  :laugh:0 -
I completely understand. The treadmill and I had an hour long convo last night while the person I'm dating went out dancing with a friend. That plus the hour I had already spent on cardio strength class was the only reason I slept last night. Better than eating chocolate or drinking beer!0

I'm starting to feel that way about my favorite piece of equipment - the Octane xRide. It's best described as a seated elliptical. Today I set out to do 1 hour, but I felt pretty good so I did an extra 1/2 hour. I'm learning how to work with it in a way that I am now really able to progress in my exercise capacity. I can go great guns on it when I'm pissed off or frustrated. It is now my friend, even tho I still refer to it as "the beast!" LOL...0

Just started my affair with the treadmill. I understand.0

You know when you meet someone new, and immediately hit it off, and spend lots of time together, and the sex is amazing and you just can't get enough? That's how I felt about my treadmill for the longest time. At this point, things are pretty much routine. We've talked about playing dress-up or using handcuffs or something to spice things up....0

LMAO @ Taso!!! That is HILARIOUS!!!
Things got a little boring with my ellipitical so I had a fling with running outside for a few weeks, but I just can't resist going back to that ellip!0 -
I am so glad that other people have this also! I feel so much more in control than I did before I got on it. I was feeling like there was nothing that would make me feel human again today. I'm sure there is going to be a point when I feel like I need to spice things up.. but for now, I am perfectly happy with the relationship we have. I talk.. it listens. I run.. it makes me run faster. It takes my breath away.. and yet, makes it so that I am able to breath again. Thank God for it. lol0

I really love the treadmill. I believe it is seen as the cardio equipment that kicks your butt the most. The elliptical is nice on your knees and the bike is nice on your butt and knees if positioned correctly. The treadmill is nicer than the real pavement but it seems to me like it forces you to utilize everything in your body to move forward. I feel way more accomplished running on the treadmill than I do on the elliptical or bike. All are great work outs but the treadmill stands out to me the most. I've relearned my love for running and am always excited to get on a treadmill. Especially since they are usually pretty empty at the gym comparing to the others.
The treadmill and the weights have a special place in my heart as I feel like they make me stronger all over and really make me understand how to move my body.
Someday I will be brave enough to run outside. That is a whole different ball game.0 -
Yep, the treadmill does force you to do it.. Because what happens if you give up? You fly across the room and into the wall. And no one wants that. lmao.. No really... My husband has done it. *shakes head*... not pleasant and who wants to plaster up holes in the wall? LOL0
