You have done a remarkable job! I can't help but notice that with the majority of the success stories, whether they are before and after, before and during, whether the person lost 10 pounds or 80 pounds the posts end with something like "I still have a ways to go but" or "I know I'm not there yet" or "I still want to lose "x" pounds"

So often we counter our positives with a negative. Like I did great today but I didn't do great yesterday or I lose 50 pounds but my stomach isn't flat yet. We are too hard on ourselves!

Revel in your success! Whether it's 1 pound or 100 pounds, you did it! You made progress or even reached your goal! No AND, IFs or BUTs about it :)

You're all awesome and motivate me everyday!

I used to do this. Say things like I've met my goal, but I have so far to go still. I finally stopped because I have worked very hard to get where I am today. Am I perfect? no way. But, we are human and no of us is perfect. I'm happy and content with who I am and how i look. :)
  • Excellent point. Thanks for bringing it up! Congrats on the 2 lbs lost!

Thanks! I do that all the time. I ran into a friend of mine and she lost so much weight, and she asked me how much I lost and at that time I said "just 6 lbs", she said don't say that! 6lbs is a lot, she said never downplay your success. Your the one doing the work, you need to appreciate what you are accomplishing.

Excellent point. When you use the word "just" with everything you devalue yourself or whatever it is that you are talking about. I'm just a peon., I'm just a housewife., I'm just going for a walk. If you do those things well, stand up and be proud! I am a housewife. I am the backbone of this company. I am going for a walk. I try not to use the word just but I've done it so long that I still catch myself doing it.
