progesterone bloat?

for those that have gone through menopause, i'm hoping you can send me some sympathy.
do you feel differently when you are on progesterone? i recently (thursday) started taking a higher dose. i feel dizzy and sort of drowsy after i take it for about 20-30 and then i am fine. i also have a mild headache behind the eyes. i can live with that. what has me frustrated is that my weight is approximately the same, but i have gained about 3 inches around my middle overnight!!!
i went from a 29 inch waist to a 32.
so irritating!
anyway i know i can google the internet about the side effects and a possible solution, but i just want to commiserate with someone who understands.

That is evil. I didn't get the bloat until the last few days of a 6 week cycle of progesterone last year. At first it really seemed to help, and overall I think it helped, but that last week was THE END, lol.
Hang in there and hope you feel better soon!0 -
I understand the bloat but not doing progesterone. Haven't brought myself to do it. Trying evening primrose oil right now. Good luck on your journey.0

I have taken 2 cycles for PCOS and I bloat and become quite irritable...I suggest an extra cup or 2 of coffee( a natural diuretic) and watch your sodium intake carefully. Good luck hon!0

YES I have it and hate it. It has happened in my belly and thighs. I have been on prometrium for a week and the bloating was almost immediate. UGH. I am using it to help with getting preggers though and it worked last time so.... I can live with it!0
