Good Morning!
I have been doing some sort of cardio almost every morning but I need to start incorporating strength training as well. Does anybody know of any good DVD's that require none or very little equipment, besides the 30 day shred as I have already looked into that one and it is two intense? And should I also alternate my cardio with my strength such as 1 day cardio, next day strength, next day cardio, etc?

I do alternate days of cardio and strength. I can't recommend any DVD's since I don't use them. I currently only use dumbbells (5, 10, and 15 lbs) and my own body for strength training. Resistance bands are also good and cheap.

    Good luck!

I quite like pilates for strength. Most of the exercises I do use your own body weight in some way, so no need for equipment.
  • You could look into the P90X... It's only as intense as you make it. I like to use the weights videos as a guide to help me get in the weight training needed. Could also look up some workouts at bodybuilding.com. If you just get a pull up bar, a set of adjustable dumbells, some tension bands and a mat you should be able to look up a few routines without using any dvd's.

    good luck.

You really need no equipment, if you don't want to. Start off with some pushups from the knees, use tins of food in you cupboard for weights, for starting off and squats and lunges for legs. Look up some full body strength moves online. Hope this helps.

Jillian Michaels has a video, Shred it - with Weights, circuit training with handweights or a kettlebell. I'm not sure how good it is tho.
I'm doing push-ups, chair dips and tricep extensions with 8lb weights (back scratchers-I started with 3lb weights).
The first two just use your own body weight.

You can also try plank variations: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/how-to-proper-plank-technique/
The nice thing about push-ups and planks is that there are lots of ways to modify them based on your fitness level so you can make them as hard or easy as you need to.

Jillian Michaels has a couple of beginners videos if Shred is too intense... frontside/backside.

    Good luck!
