sparkling water?

does anyone know if sparkling water harms your weight loss? i'm not talking about tonic water or anything, but the kind of water that has carbonation and fruit flavoring. it generally has some type of artificial sweetener in it as well. i tend to treat it like diet soda and limit myself to it (maybe a bottle everyone once in a while over the course of the day - the kind i get has about 4 servings in a bottle). i like it because it helps keep me full. i don't count this in my water intake (i only count pure water from the tap for that!)

any thoughts? i don't mean to start any flame wars about artificial sweeteners, either.

I drink La Croix all the time it has no sweeteners. It hasnt hurt my weight loss, its just another way to get your water in. :drinker:
  • Won't harm your weight loss. You are already drinking in moderation so it won't be a big deal, but sometimes these have sodium or artificial sweeteners. If you want to avoid that you can go with plain sparkling water (Perrier, etc.) and add a little lemon, but of course that is up to you.

One thing though, they bloat you a bit! I drink sparkling water or diet soda on ocassion and avoid it when I am going to do measurements in the next day or will be wearing tight clothing.
