Has anyone here ever read/tried this?
Two friends of mine are doing this right now, and swear by it!

  • I think I saw that in Border's but could be mistaken for another dieting book. I am curious, too!

If the article doesn't pop right up just do a search on the prevention website ---17 day diet

I don't know what exactly this diet entails....just skimmed it a little. Make sure you are getting 1200 calories either way (if you go on this diet or not) because if you don't, your body goes into starvation mode and you won't lose much weight.

I tried it for about a week and a half but kept on cheating, Its hard to do the first two cycles especially if your a carb lover (you cant even have whole wheat bread) I did lose about 6-8 lbs in that week and a half. Anyways a coworker of mine has done two whole rounds of it without cheating and lost 55 lbs in 16 weeks and has kept off with the maintenance phase of the book. I will say it really focuses you on eating clean not processed food which people on MFP suggest the same thing, as well as calorie cycling it has that in the book too and people on here have suggested to do that especially to break a plateau so those are the pros. The cons is that the first 2 cycles are very strict and low calorie
