Does starvation mode exist? Yes it sure does. After almost two years of huge deficits and no loses...and even gains....I started eating back a majority of my exercise calories and I'll be darned.....
Week 1 waist 30
hips 39 1/2
thigh 21
Week 3 waist 28
hips 38 1/3
thigh 19 1/2
Week 5
waist 28
hips 38 1/3
thigh 20
Week 7
waist 27 1/2
hips 38
high 19 1/2
Not sure how long it has been...number of weeks...
waist 26 3/4
hips 36 3/4
thighs 19 and 18 3/4
Weight has only gone down a few pounds, but it has been fat not muscle.
It has been a crazy few months!

So glad to see your results! I've always eaten back my exercise calories, but my base calories were set too low. I was really scared to up them, but after months of not budging, I finally did it. I haven't lost any weight yet, but I'm giving it another week before I measure. Here's to your continued success. I hope I achieve the same results!0

This just made my day. I feel like I overeat if I eat back my exercise calories. Thank you.0

Thank you for sharing, I have been feeling discouraged myself and on the advice of people here, my husband and a friend I have upped my calories. Can't wait to see some change!!0

I just upped my calories yesterday - it's scary, only because i'm used to eating what seems like so much less. I've been stuck in a plateau for weeks.. i'm hoping this gets me out of it!0

That's good for you. But in my case, I really don't like to stuff myself by forcing to eat back all my exercise calories unless if I'm hungry but I make sure I go up to 1200 cals/day though many times I just hit a little over than 1200. It doesn't matter if you eat it or not as long as you're not feeling hungry.0

for those starting...yes it is SCARY! Get the tape measure out because my scale hasn't moved a ton. It has been an inches thing. I'd be banging my head against a wall had I just gone by scale. I love food, so I don't consider myself stuffing my face. I'm an instructor and I exercise a ton, so eating a lot of food is GLORIOUS! LOL! It's all good food though. :-)0

I've been eating some of my exercise calories for the lase 4 days because I've been working out so hard. So far I've put on 2 pounds! Please let it just be muscle!0

Very motivating. I have hit a huge plateau and am hoping to be building muscle and losing inches. I started 8/1 by measuring myself and I will be measuring again today 1 week later. I am hoping for lower numbers - will certainly share!0

I am envious of those that feel as if you are stuffing yourselves by eating your exercise calories. Not me....I am hungry!!!!0

[/quote] It's not going to be muscle. But it's not fat either. It's your body readjusting. Food in your gut weight...and water weight. Give it time...it will come back off!

I needed to hear that as well!!! Thank you!0
