Not one single person helped me the first time I posted this, so let's try again.

I'm not sure, but I think I'm at the beginning of a plateau. I am going to try zig zag calories this week and see what happens. I KNOW that I've told others until I'm blue in the face that to get rid of a plateau you have to trick your body and eat more here and there, but now when it's coming to my turn I'm scared to do it! Isn't that silly! I feel like... oh no I have to increase my calories I'm not going to loose weight this week.

This site: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm gave me an option to give me zig zag calories for the week. Some lower, some way higher. MFP wants me to consume 1300 calories a day, whereas this site wants me to do the average of 1500 calories a week.

What are your thoughts? Need some encouragement that this will work! Others that have tried this, please let me know.

My week will look like:

Fat Loss
Monday 1568
Tuesday 1254
Wednesday 1881
Thursday 1568
Friday 1411
Saturday 1725
Sunday 1568

Go ahead and try it. I would give your body at least 10 days to 2 weeks to catch up to what you're doing - don't expect results from it in a day or two. Most of the time our bodies need longer than a couple days to figure out what we're doing. So, give it time to work. And on your higher days? EAT! It is important that you eat the calories it is telling you to eat in order to zig zag correctly. :)

I've never tried it, but I say give it a shot! It seems to have worked for a lot of other people on here.
  • I have started calorie cycing (or zigzag) as well this week. I always struggle with sticking to it longer than a week. But when I have done it, the first week the weight falls off easily. Be sure to take into account your workouts and adding in those extra calories. Good luck and I'll check in to see how we both did : )

Even with an average of 1500 calories per day for the week you should still be running a decent deficit. It might give your body the extra little boost it needs! I say go for it ;) You're not likely to gain weight and if it doesn't work you can always go back to eating your normal calories or maybe increasing exercise duration, intensity, or frequency.

    Good luck to you!
