Compulsive Eating

I have posted on here before about being diagnosed as having a compulsive eating disorder.
I have been exercising like mad (which I love) and was doing really well on the food side of things for a short while, but now feel like I am slowly heading back to square one.
Today has been a REALLY bad day, so I have decided to make my food diary public for other people to take a look at.
I am massively ashamed of today's food consumtion (and I haven't even left work yet to go home for dinner), but could really do with some encouragement and maybe even some advice/tips on how to learn to fight this horrible addiction...

Girl, I'm certainly no expert but from my experience, if you add more protein to your breakfast you're less likely to binge during the day. That banana doesn't seem like it's filling you up, and you're getting hungry around mid morning. Try having a bigger breakfast than just 100 cals full of fiber and protein. Now, if you're just snacking because you're bored, I would chew on some gum and drink lots of water. You are absolutely gorgeous!!! Don't let one bad day ruin this for you!! It's a learning process! You'll get there, this is just a little bump on the way. And you've realised it so you have time to turn it around now before it gets bad again.
I looked at your diary. I would try and eat a bigger healthy breakfast to stop so much morning snacking.
Is it possible for you to not keep the Haribo etc so easily accessible?0 -
I have this problem and it is very hard to control.... I love to exercise and I do that compulsively too. Some people just have a little more addictiuve type personalities. You can't let it get you down though... you're going to fall off the wagon once in awhile, but get back on and remember how it feels when you DO control it!
I would comment on your journal -- but being American, I don't know what most of that stuff is! I did see some fruit though
Some things I do is make good things handier to snakc on than bad.... I don't even buy the bad stuff if I can avoid it. I will buy an entire rotisserie chicken and cut it up and grab little pieces when I need to chew on something. I also love string cheese and greek yogurt and protein shakes... they keep me full.

I know how hard it is to say no to food and how easy it is to make excuses as to why you're eating what you're eating.
"I worked out today, I can eat a _______."
"Oh, well, I'll just workout tomorrow. This ice cream sundae won't hurt."
"I'm too tired to do a real workout today." (and then spend the day on the couch eating garbage. Ugh!)
I've done that my entire life...especially in my 20's, when I was left to my own devices. You're too young and beautiful to stay on that slippery slope, my friend.
Keep working! Keep moving! Don't give up on yourself, girl. You're always going to be fighting an uphill battle, but You're worth fighting for! Believe it. I know you've got it inside you-- you just gotta find it.0 -
Don't be ashamed. Realize it could be worse! just start with where you are now. There is nothing worse than the thought "If I had actually followed my eating plan I wouldn't be the same (or heavier) than I was three weeks ago when I ORIGINALLY wanted to start"0

I agree with what the others have said. Sounds like you need to eat more for breakfast to help you not eat as much during the day. A couple snacks throughout the day is good, but make sure they are healthy.

I would suggest If you want to eat more choose fruits and veggies. Veggies have very few Calories and you can eat almost all you want. and soon you will want to eat less0

i have the same problem, although it hasn't been diagnosed. I ate around 3,000-5,000 calories per day last semester before I decided I needed to stop. I would suggest like another has: low cal fruits and veges!
I also recommend buying low calorie (not sugar free though) popsicles...I can eat a bunch of those throughout the day and not have to worry about the calories too much.
Also, try drinking fruit teas maybe. I like Celestial Seasonings -- 0 calories and no caffeine

I used to have a huge problemw ith compulsive eating. And compulsive exercising. Looking back, it was the darkest period of my life.
Something clicked in me one day. not sure what it was. I just woke up and one day thought - I want to be healthy. I want to look at myself in the mirror and see someone who is doing the best thing for herself look back - even if she isn't perfect.0
