Does this count as "cardio?"

We were at the county fair yesterday for 5 hours. We were walking most of the time, though it was surley a slow pace with two children. So would I count some of that time as excercise? I would say maybe 2 hrs were actual movement.

  • Sure! If you type in walking in your excersice you should be able to find an option for slow pace.

i would say it depends on what you have your activity level set as. if you have it as sedentary then yes, anything higher than that than no.

You were off the couch so if it's outside your daily norm as far as activities go, log it in as 2.0 kph Walking for 120 mins (2 hours)

I would because anytime you are not sitting still, you are burning calories. It may not be alot, but it's something!

Was your heart-rate elevated to at least a fat-burning zone? If not, it's not cardio. Cardo = heart. If the blood isn't pumping through your heart any faster than normal, than it's not cardio.
  • yes it counts.. you were walking so you were burning calories...cleaning counts too :)

Any exercise with an elevated heart rate counts as cardio. If walking elevates - you're good to go.

It's probably not cardio since you more than likely didn't elevate your heart rate very much, but it's definitely activity above and beyond your usual daily calorie burn. I usually log about half the time I was somewhere that I walked for hours as "walking 2 MPH."
