ATP-Ribose, Cordyceps mushrooms, good /not good?

Options
I know a very little about ATP/mitochondria, and take cordyceps for other reasons, stamina, stronger lungs but found out, by some personal research it helps along ATP production as does Ribose.
but can someone out there give a bit more info on what exactly ATP is/does etc...?
online is NOT helpful at all. too techy.
i need English,not math here.

Also, are there other supplements that help it be stronger/ or however you would quantify it?
