Not something I see much of in the UK, although I've never looked and guess it is readily available in the supermarket. A bit of looking on the web suggests it's big in America so I thought I'd ask here.
I had some in a yoguart the other day and really liked it and was just wondering if it's good to add to the diet and how you use it (apart from mixing with yoguart)?

There are a number of different types of granola - some of them healthy, some of them not so healthy. I like to make my own and eat as a high energy snack for hiking trips or if we go on a long road trip rather than buying snacks along the way. I also add it to yogurt. It also makes a great topping for a fruit pudding rather than a cake or biscuit topping.0

Granola itself is usually a pretty decent food. The problem is many times the manufacturer will add sugars, honey or other things to sweeten it up. The key is check the label to make sure the granola you're getting is still low in calories and fat.0

it's really good in salads.
because of money i haven't been able to have it for a while but here what i like:
green salad, raspberries, blueberries, chopped apples, and granola. for the dressing i just squeeze some lime over it so it's moist and YUM!0 -
Find a granola recipe on the internet and make your own. It is wonderful. Cereal with milk, in your yogurt, as trail mix, sprinkled on ice cream, the uses are endless. You are limited only by your imagination and what you add to the granola.0

Thanks all, I shall be sure to check the labels, didn't realise it was made to different recipes.
Sounds good as trail mix, maybe with some rasins.
I'll buy a bag and if I like it/use it look to make my own.
Thanks, Martin0 -
granola is pretty much oats with sugar.0

Does anyone have a go to granola recipe? I am starting to experiment but would like some input. My first go at it was oats, honey, coconut oil, vanilla, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Not to bad but still more fat and cal than I would like it to be. Please share0

Lucky I,m from England, been in in USA 20yrs now... Granola is just a fancy term for oats nuts dried fruits and honey mixed together it comes in different combinations you'll see it in England in the cereal isle referred to as muslix or if I remember correctly in Alpen those kinds of cereals or you can buy it in stores where they sell it buy the lb just look for its its gotta be there or find a recipe on the web to make your own.0

This stuff was different to Alpen for sure, it was almost like biscuit crumbs. Will have a look next time I'm at the supermarket but if it's ful of sugar I won't bother/0
