I love Whole Foods. Even if it does cost my entire paycheck to shop there...

I absolutely love whole foods too!! Their website has great recipes. The closest one to me is about 30 minutes away, but I make a trip there 1x month to stock up.

The meat and produce quality is be best in town!

As for the prices being high...where I live it's pretty much the same from one store to the next.

You can often get meat on sale though (and if you're buying from the Whole Foods butcher you are only buying what you need for a recipe--not pre cut and pre wrapped meat). Last night I got two pounds of humanely raised chicken drumsticks for around $2. Happy drumsticks. So really--it all depends what you buy and there's always various cuts of meat on sale that particular week.

Organic fruit, veggies, and meats are better for you (the meat is actually healthier for your body compared to the factory farmed meat--check out 'Eating Animals' or 'Food Inc.' to learn more).

    :)
