Metabolism

Yes, I checked first - there are posts about increasing your metabolism but I have a different question. Apparently, everyone's metabolism isn't the same.
Is there a test? How can you tell if you have 'slow metabolism'? (other than an autopsy)

At the gym where I used to work they had a test that you could do, it took 9 minutes and you breathed through a tube in and out like you normally would. It looked like one of those machines that asthmatics use. I do not know what it was called or how it worked but when you were done it would give you a read out of what your body burns while doing nothing. I would think that other gyms or maybe weight loss clinics would have this but I do not know.0

I can tell you that it was pretty accurate for me, I stuck to the amount of calories and lost exactly what it told me that I would. It is also very similar to the # that mfp gave me.0

You can get a BodyBugg, it will get your metabolism down pretty well. I've been using one for quite a while and have been having steady loses. You can get a used one for less than $120 on ebay. A lot of these other tests cost that much to do it one time.0
