Well, here are couple of things to keep in mind: if you're eating 1200 calories without eating back the 100-200 calories, it may not be enough. Make sure that if you are eating fewer calories that they are nutritious. If you are losing, feeling satisfied/full and are still energetic enough to carry on with your day, then I'd say stay where you're at and eat your exercise calories if you need them and want them. They shouldn't hinder your weight loss goals if you don't have a lot of exercise cals to eat back.

The stickies provide detailed explanations of what eating back exercise calories means.

In short, it depends on what your net goal is and what your weight is compared to your ideal weight. If you're 100 pounds overweight, it's not going to matter as much as if you're only 10 pounds over.

guess it depends on the intensity of your walking.......is it deliberate exercise or just walking around the house?

    If deliberate then yes!

I've read mixed comments on this site about the exercise calories. I usually limit my calorie intake to 1200 a day. I exercise anywhere between 1200-1400 calories burned M-F. That gives me about 2200-2400 calories to eat a day. I usually leave about 500-800 calories in the negative when it is all said and done. I never eat them all back, but I do try.

i forgot to mention, I walk 3.5 mph about 30-50 minutes a day, about 3-5 days a week. and i'm never hungry. i used to eat 600 calories a day until i realized how little i was getting, and i'm currently finding it difficult to get to 1200. and i only have about 15-20 pounds to lose

I didn't lose consistently until I started eating mine.
