Dear John-ny 12-Pounds,

Since you’ve been gone I feel a 12-pound weight lifted from my shoulders (well, actually sporatically distributed throughout my body). I thought I would miss you, but the truth is that I am glad I lost you. Sure, we’ve had some sweet memories over the past years– sitting around chewing the fat, watching old rising cholesterol reruns on tube– but I’ve moved on to more wholesome interests now.

I must cofess that I have met someone else– his name is ”Jim.” I’ve been seeing him every other day and our relationship has progressed quite nicely. The weight of my love for him rises everytime I see him. Our relationship is firming up quite nicely. We really work up a sweat when we are together!

My wish for you is that you will find a new relationship. Perhaps a healthy baby or a recovering anorexic would welcome your attention. You deserve to have a healthy union with someone.

I will never forget the additives and byproducts that came out of our time together. I wish you well.
