I finally decided after trying to speed weightloss, practically crying and having a break down because the scale wouldnt budge, and having a revelation that I would not weigh myself anymore. I no longer want the scale to dictate how I feel. I was sick of the way it was making me feel to see there was no change. Now, I my main goal is fitness, shrinking inch-wise, and feeling better. I will rock this Ripped in 30! So, I want to wish everyone here good luck and feel free to share your revelations on your journey and motivational tips!

    Good for you!
  • I wish you the best of luck with this. I smashed a scale November of 09 and didn't step on one until November that next year. Though my weight stayed the same, I shrunk in inches and body fat. That's really all that matters!

    I hope it's successful for you! :)

Im thinking i need to do the same thing. just put the scale in the trunk and weigh in only once per month b/c it's becoming very depressing not seeing any changes or resutls on the scale and it determining how i feel about myslef.

    WOOHOOO!!!!!!!

Been there felt ALL of that!!! I gave up the scale for several months and it was GLORIOUS! It's tough at first but get someone to take it away or hide it for you. :) Now I weigh in on the first of each month.

Do what feels right - for me I make better choices when I feel better about myself. I lose more weight when I weigh in less!

I totally understand what you mean put it away pick one morning of each week or one day a month also take measurments as you build muscle the scale might go up(my new leg muscle from marathon training has made the scale actually go up but my waiste and everything are shrinking)

    Congrats on the new mindset!

I'm also a bit anti-scale. I gave it up for lent this year and since that ended, I have been only weighing in the first of every month. It's liberating to just be able concentrate on the overall healthy eating and work out picture instead of constantly obsessing over how each and every thing will be reflected on the scale the next morning.

After sticking to monthly weigh-ins for a few months, I just joined a forum challenge this month which has weekly weigh-ins. While I'm having fun with the challenge, I'm not loving how much I'm already back to thinking about the scale. When this challenge ends at the end of August, I'll definitely be putting away my scale again.

Good luck! Feel free to add me if you're looking for like minded friends to go along with your new mindset! :)
