So I have struggled with weight loss for a long time and would lose and gain. However, during the winter a co-worker asked if I wanted to be in a challenge with her and some people she knew. I was hesitant due to the rules, however, it worked and I was hooked!! So this is how it works for anyone that may be interested in starting one of their own......

There is one person that has a spreadsheet that lists everyone and their weights. Everyone pays in to participate. I have done one challenge that you paid $50 and one that you paid $30. We just pay all money at the end of the challenge. Each week you weigh in twice, Monday and Thursday. If you lose weight great, but if you gain weight you pay in $10. So you can pay up to $20 dollars a week if you gain weight for each weigh in. We also keep people accountable, so everyone weighs in at home, but sometimes there are photo weigh in's and they have to take a pic of their feet on the scale and text or email it. So far everyone has done it! There are a few more rules, for example if you miss a weigh in you pay $10, unless it has been approved ahead of time. Then they may have to weigh in the day before, or day after, or miss a weigh in. If they miss a weigh in they can weigh in at the next weigh in day and if they gain weight they have to pay $20 to cover the weigh in that they miss, but if they do not go up they do not pay in. (Feel free to message me if you need it explained better) If you get out of the challenge there is a fee for doing that, that is if you want to. For the one I'm doing now, it's just that you have to pay in what you owe. In the last one we had a fee of $50 if we dropped out of the challenge and paid what he owed. You can think of some of your own rules, but so far it has been an awesome experience. Both challenges have been for 12 weeks and the winner takes all the money. If you want any more information about it just message me! I wanted to share this information because this is what I really needed to push me into the right direction...it really helped that money was involved, because I do not like to pay in!!! Throughout the challenges I have used MFP to keep me on track!! Some of my fellow challengers have also been using MFP to help them track everything!!

Again if anyone wants more info or something you read was confusing, just let me know! :)
