When did fast food get so damn expensive?! Especially McDonalds of all places! I think we all know how ungreat fast food is for you & what low quality the food is. And how cheaply they're able to mass produce it! So tell me how Mcdonald's is going to try & charge me $5 for an effing chicken sandwich. I went there all excited to try the new premium chicken sandwich today & took my happy *kitten* over to Taco Bell immediately after seeing the $4.49 price tag on it! They have to be kidding me!

1 word: paycheck.
It may be a crappy job, but they still have to pay their staff. And unfortunately, with the cost of food and fuel rising, its just going to get worse as their suppliers have more difficulty getting product and getting it to stores.0 -
They're a multinational company who are set up to make profits.... Why would you be surprised?
They probably did you a favour, as you didn't have to eat their crummy food!0 -
I remember the good ol' days when getting really faaaat was easy. Go to McDonald's with a $5 bill and come out with a super-sized super-fattening greasy combo.
Thank God for the $5 Subway footlong that I can cut in half and make 2 healthy meals with.0 -

Subway is always the best bang for your buck. A foot long is a lot of food and it’s healthy AND delicious for $5!! Slightly high on sodium but just go easy the rest of the day and you'll be under 2500mg no problem (ham foot long is 1490mg for example).0

You think that's bad, I ordered the Apple Cranberry Spinach salad and an unsweet tea today from Bob Evans and it was $10!0

I have to disagree, Subway isn't healthy at all. Look at the ingredient list on that deli meat or their bread. Is a 6" turkey sandwich better than a Big Mac? Sure. But healthy it is not.0 -
I wish I liked Subway more, especially on those days when I need to grab lunch on the go. I just don't like them, except the meatball sub which is in no way, shape, or form healthy. Although I do try to get extra spinach on it, which is something...I guess....0

I will never eat at Mc Donald's again...They have screwed over ALL of us.
If you want more info...watch "Food Inc."0 -
Yeah. Rotten Ronnie's charges you a premium for horrible food. Interesting business model...0

Well, if you want something HALF-WAY healthy at a fast food place, then yeah, it'll be the most expensive thing they've got. $1 for a greasy double cheeseburger, but if you want a grilled chicken sandwich? No way, $5 please.0

subway is no better - its filled with pig *kitten* ingredients just like mcdonalds and taco bell. They have you fooled.0

I'm glad I hate, and have always hated, McDonald's.
I used to love Subway, until I got food poisoning from them, from 2 different locations.
I even hate Sonic now...they have a grilled chicken wrap, which basically is just grilled chicken, with lettuce, tomatoes, and light ranch sauce...which boasts that it's healthy. A friend of mine worked there for a couple of years, and when I told him that's what I get, he informed me that they grill it on the same grill as the burgers and bacon...ugggggggghhhhhh.
While it isn't "nutritious" in the sense that there's anything really super healthy for you, Chick-Fil-A is probably the healthiest fast food place. I would say it's a little pricier than the others, but apparently not, anymore, after reading this thread. At least a few years ago when I worked there, I remember them winning an award by Men's Health Magazine for being the "healthiest" fast food place (milkshakes obviously excluded ).0
