so i'm kind of freaking out. my dad is taking my boyfriend and i out to dinner tonight at a restaurant called Cheddars and there is NO nutritional content online ANYWHERE. what do i do? eat light all day and go to the gym and splurge on dinner? i dont want to just get a salad cause my dad is driving 2 hours to take us out...plus salads at places can be horrible for you anyways...

has anyone been to Cheddars and know of a good lower calorie entree?

Eat half and take the other half home. Fill up on salad, even if it's bad. And order WATER WITH LEMON.

Looks like they have some seafood selections, such as a grilled catfish or salmon. I think I've had the catfish from there and it wasn't bad.

I've been to Cheddars-and it is very good. But that was before I started watching what I ate. Their Lemon Pepper grilled chicken should be pretty reasonable or the talapia if you like fish.

Good luck and enjoy your time with your Dad!

Their Salmon is really good - they also have an excellent Lemon Pepper chicken dish that you can order double veggies (steamed broccoli that is really good too)

(I used to work there in my teens lol - in Texas - so I remember the chicken dish being very healthy)...

Any of their grilled chicken dishes should work fine, their salmon is excellent - had it about 6 months ago... And their steaks are (as I recall) good and lean - so a 7oz sirloin was, I believe 380 plus veggies...

    Hope that helps!
Enjoy the dinner date with Dad and BF!!!!!!!!!!

I've had the salmon option with the mango salsa on the side, veggies and a baked potato with the options on the side so I know how much I put on. Go for it and eat slow so that you can pay attention to your body and most importantly have fun!

Avoid their bisquits, Their salads aren't very good health-wise. They're very tasty but very bad for you. I agree with everyone else, get their veggies (but not their broccoli casserole it's full of cheese!) and you can have them box up half for you so you only eat half of whatever you order

I love Cheddars!!! When I'm not wanting to splurge, I get the 8oz sirloin, broccoli, and baby carrots...Their broccoli and baby carrots are the best!!! You should be able to safely eat that for less than 700 cals (probably less than 600)...

I love Cheddars! I ALWAYS get Tilapia with Mango salsa/green beans/house salad w/ vinagrette.

The fish comes over a rice pilaf so I try not to eat much of that and it's so much food I usually only eat half anyway.

I know I logged it before, but I think I had to use some generic items in the database. Figured it was close.

Good Luck! And hey think of it this way. It's an accomplishment that you are even thinking about it ahead of time and trying to pre-plan. I know in the past I would never do that!

Go with a fish dish. If you are not a big fish eater (like me) the tilapia is not a very fishy fish. Drink water and order steamed veggies or a salad for your side with a vingarette.

Just a warning... Cheddars portions are huge! If you don't share a dish with your BF, plan on taking some food home. There is some chicken and fish on the menu which are pretty tasty.

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but the broccoli cheese casserole is awesome! I think it'd be worth sharing a serving with your BF.

Portions are large and stick with something grilled. There are several options there. Obviously stay away from the Monte Cristo Hot Dogs!
