Has anyone tried Truvia in the Raw? I am really skeptical about using sweeteners other than actual sugar. However, I keep seeing lots of things advertising Truvia and I'm intrigued. I wasn't a fan of Splenda at all. I am very sensitive to tastes and that tasted like sweetener to me.

My husband will just do without sweeteners because he doesnt like the tast of artificials and he has the will power to resist sugar. We were recently vacationing in CA and he tried Truvia and now we cook with it, he puts it in his tea, etc. It is really fantastic!

I've used Truvia & it's pretty good. Another natural sweetener I use is Xylitol. I love it & think it tastes as good as sugar.

I get itchy from Splenda for some reason so I switched to Truvia. I like it. I use it in my smoothies and coffee!
  • I personally like Splenda, but my hubby hates it. We bought Truvia last week to give it a try, he's not a fan of it but he says it tastes a lot more like sugar than Splenda does. He says he can tell the difference between Truvia & real sugar, but I can't. So, I'm finishing my Splenda alone & then we plan on switching to Truvia. :)

I thought from the advertising that Truvia was just a brand name they used to market Stevia.
It's not... it is a processed product that contains:
-- rebiana [which is derived from stevia] and
-- erythritol [(2S,3R)-butane-1,2,3,4-tetrol, which is a sugar alcohol]

I've heard enough negative things to make me want to look into this more before I include it in my diet, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Trader Joe's sells actual Stevia as well as Agave Syrup, which are both natural sweeteners.

Again, even though these are natural products I feel as though I should do some research on these as well.

For now I'm just trying to get used to things less sweet, a gradual process.
