8th time's the charm?

I've tried counting cals before and I've had weight loss success. But I haven't yet managed to keep the good habits on a long-term basis. So I'll drop 15-20lbs and feel really good, then slip back into bad habits, which keep me around 20-30lbs above where I think I should be. I turned 40 this year and I want to really, truly break the bad habits for good. I can't be too spartan -- I love a cold beer with some gourmet pizza, or a really stellar wine pairing type meal -- but I want that to be the exception, not the norm.

So, I'm going to try to keep my eye more on the long term this time; I want to go into these next decades more fit than ever -- basically want my life to be a negative split, ha! I want to explore new places on foot, or by bike, into my 80s and beyond!

I'd love to have some positive, mature friends on this site. I'm sure it would help me stay on track!

Thanks,
Sara

I've been in the same boat. I've lost weight and then fall off the wagon. I also just turned 40. Feel free to friend me and I'll do what I can to motivate and encourage you. :)
