Helloooo! I recently purchased Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and it is currently in the post! It's one of the DVD's Im constantly hearing about from other MFP friends so I thought I'd jump on the band wagon and become part of the gang!

So what I would like is to get some feedback from people who have tried and tested this workout so that I can get the best out of it. Tips on how I should make best use of the DVD (Do it every day/every second day etc) What should I be doing with regards food/nutrition alongside this workout etc.

Also any success stories would be very inspiring as Im going through a very unmotivated phase at the moment :)

All advice is greatly appreciated and Im looking forward to getting some good results!

Thanks MFP's :)

30 day shred was the 1st workout I did after having my baby. I loved it! I died during level 1-but I stuck w/ it all the way and my endurance increased greatly! I seen great results-somewhere around the middle of lev 2. I did the full 10 days w/ each level and used 5 lb weights the whole time. Good luck-stick to it! Diet wise-make sure u eat ur exercise calories back-veggies and fruits and proteins

I did the 30-day shred, and I lost 11.6 lbs and almost 10 inches as a result. It was the first workout I did after 4 or 5 months of just watching what I was eating. Jillian is brutal, but it is worth it. It really does work. Just stick with it!!!

Great! Did you do it every single day for the 30days or did you take breaks? I'm a huge Biggest Loser fan so I know how ruthless Jillian can be!!! But Im looking forward to it!

I started it 3 days ago, it's not that a brutal work-out, after doing insanity, it's a quick 20min done.
I also wanted to try it to see what all this was about, I find it to short of a work out so I'm doubling it and like the results so far.
more calories burned and soaked afterwards:happy:

We I say double the wk-out
    I did day 1: fit test insanity + level 1 30DS JM
    day 2: 30DS JM level 1 & 2
    Today: 30DS JM level 1 & 3

so I get about 54min a routine and a min of 300cals burn

oh and I plan to do it daily

If you are using weights, have 2 sets- I had 3lb and 5lb to start. Some of the exercises you can do with a heaver weight and get more out of it, but some (lateral v-raises...ack!) you'll want to use lighter weights. If you are using cans or the like you should be able to do the equivalent-15 oz and 24oz cans or something.

Also-when you want to stop, especially on the cardio, just push yourself to do 1 more rep before you do your 5 sec breather. You'll find by the end of the level it really helps you improve.

Don't push yourself too hard tho. Not everyone can be a Natalie. By the end I was around half Natalie style and half Anita. I learned the form watching Anita, then tried Natalie's style, but if I couldn't do it, I finished out with Anita. Just because she does 'modified' versions doesn't mean they are easy!

I did the routine 30 days straight, but I think it would also be good to do every other day and alternate with something else.

Great, I have weights and all ready to go :) I may find it tough fitting it in 30days in a row but I'll try my bestest! :)

So the people generally recommend you do additional cardio or maybe strength training alongside the 30DS? If the workout is only 20mins that seems a bit short for daily exercise (to me anyways).

My main focus is to lose inches! I've seen pics of MFP's who have only lost 4 or 5lbs but they've dropped about 10-12 inches and look totally different! So I would have no problem staying at my current weight if my waist shrunk instead! :)

So is 30DS good for weight loss or inch loss? Or equally good for both?
