My plan was to come home from work tonight and go for a run, but as I was driving home, there was a ton of lightning. What can I do to get my cardio in if I can't go outside? Any indoor suggestions?

Sure! You can run in place while watching TV. You can do steps while watching TV. You can do high knee running in place, that one is my favorite. Basically anything like running in place. Lunges down a hallway are also a good way to get cardio and strength, but it can get boring :|

don't forget the ever lovely jumping jacks. Google mountain climbers if you want an awesome exercise. Burpees too. Jump rope, even if you have to fake the rope.

Agree with all of these. They're great for bad weather days!

If you have stairs, try stretching and then running up and down them - it sounds loud but it really works. You can also try jumping jacks, wall sits, or just jog around the house...

I use to do lunges with my vacuum cleaner down the hallway and back again. LOL To answer the gals question however, I agree with jogging/running in place those are great ideas that I also do when I can't do the treadmill, or run up and down stairs in the house I did that as well. you could alternate between jumping jacks and touch knees to toes and then get into a almost pushup pose. I love also to stand upright then bring my opposite knee to chest and alternate and keep doing that then switch to squats then back again that gives good cardio plus strength benefits as well. good luck and hope these ideas help.

    Do a circuit workout.

    Do one minute of each:
    High knees
    Jumping jacks
    Step ups

In between each cardio above do these: 25 crunches, 20 burpees, 20 pushups, 20 squats. Repeat the cycle 3 times.

So your workout will look like this:
high knees, crunches, jumping jacks, burpees, step ups, pushups, high knees, squats, jumping jacks., etc.....
