So I'm having an issue with finding low sodium foods besides fruits and veggies. Does anyone have any ideas on this for me?

well stear clear from processed foods, thats where you find the most sodium, just eat as clean as possible and you should be right

What do you consider to be "low" sodium? Under 100mg? Under 200mg? Raw almonds are great and you can also find lowER sodium meats and cheeses if you look for them. Also, things that are fat-free tend to make up for being so by having extra sodium... so if you go for something that is lower fat rather than fat free, it can reduce the amount of sodium in the product...

Stay away from lunch meats.....they add up quickly!
  • oh almonds would b wonderful! Yes, i noticed that also about fat free foods, they must be trying to compensate for flavor. I've never been a fruit and veggie eater and still dont have much of a taste for a lot of veggies so its rough on me when i try to do this again. I tend to do lunch meats and snack bars and etc which i know have more sodium, i suppose i was just hopeing there were lower sodium options in the category of grab and go foods.

Most store brands of things make a low sodium option, like Great Value at Walmart, or Stop and Shop brand, Winn-Dixie brand, depends on where you shop. Plus, except for at places like Publix, it's usually cheaper to buy the store brand of things.

Try sticking with fresh foods when possible and sodium won't be an issue !
