I was just wondering what oil has the least amout of calories and fats? I want to make an oil and vinegar dressing and would liek it to be the lowest calorie possile.

    I can tell you that the healthiest kind is extra virgin olive oil... not sure about the calories...

    Not a lot of difference in calories but some are healthier than others like olive, grapeseed and nut oils. The nut oils can add a special flavor profile as well.

    While I am calories conscious , I also am nutrient conscious as well. I use healthy oils and don't worry about the calories, especially since the amount I am using is so small. My preferred oils for dressings are olive oil, sesame oil and walnut oil. I have heard good things about grapeseed oil, but haven't used it. You can also use egg yolks from a hard boiled egg, 0% plain greek yogurt or smashed avocado as a fat in making salad dressings. These are especially good if you want a creamier dressing.

    I use either grape seed oil or olive oil for salads. My salads are requested at any dinner party we go to and I chuckle because it's so easy :laugh: :)
